The RADIUS™ Program offers the opportunity for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) to be seen for a one time video TeleHealth visit with a specialty and dedicated care team that includes a gastroenterologist, a mental health care provider, a dietitian, a pharmacist and a nurse.
The RADIUS™ program (Rural APPs and MDs Delivering IBD Care in the United States) is a collective of providers focused on providing care to patients with IBD. Patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis who are living in rural regions can benefit by having access to specialty IBD care through this program.
The RADIUS™ program is a patient-centered care model allowing for efficient and effective consultations between patients, their local community GI providers and an expert regional multidisciplinary IBD care team.
Often, patients’ care is managed at rural healthcare practices without the input of expert IBD clinicians, which can at times lead to the development of irreversible disease complications.
The RADIUS™ team can connect patients with a community GI provider who has access to a regional RADIUS™ team. As a provider, you can benefit from our network of multidisciplinary care providers with a growing collection of proven patient care data and treatment plans. RADIUS™ utilizes a hub and spoke model to provide a connection to resources in your local area as well as to other hub sites around the country.
If you are living with IBD (either Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis) and would like to be considered for a referral to a RADIUS™ Program, please talk with your GI provider who can connect with a RADIUS™ coordinator and determine if there is a center in your area. A referral can then be sent for you to be seen for a one-time Telehealth visit by video and the RADIUS™ coordinator will connect with you to help set everything up.
You will continue to work with your local GI care provider for your long-term IBD care needs after your visit with the RADIUS™ team.
